Something That Happened Yesterday

On Saturday I got to go have lunch with my friend, Tara, from high school.  It was awesome except that I felt really awkward at first because I had some sort of episode.  I never said anything to her while it was going on but, I bet she thought I was nuts!  I was shaking and my eyes wouldn't focus.  Then I felt dumb and had nothing to say for the first little bit.  UGH!  But, it all ended well because my body stopped freaking out and I could finally think of things to say! lol!  It was all really weird.  But, good too.
The point is, she lives in St. Louis now.  All my friends had the good sense to get the crap out of here just like we talked about in high school.  I got away for a bit and somehow ended up back here.  In Carthage of all places.  Crap almighty, what the heck have I done to myself!?!?!?

Best Thing All Day

We are all about making fun of ourselves!! LOL!

Snacks

When we went to the zoo (which I am putting off blogging about because it is gonna be long) I packed a bunch of snacks for the kids to take along.  I bought a few boxes of food (not these exact ones in the pic) and sorted them into snack size ziploc baggies.  Then I stuff those baggies back in the box which I then put in my food tote.  Anyway, we realized that the kids ate a lot less when the snacks were pre-portioned out.  But, to buy them that way is more expensive.  So now when I go shopping I buy snacks and put them all in baggies when I get home.  So far it is working out great!  And it is healthier and doesn't cause them to take the whole box and stuff it somewhere, forgetting about it.  Also, it means that I don't have to get them a snack all the time.

Dinner the Other Night

We had dinner at Jeremy's parents' house the other night.  We ate some ribs, corn on the cob, beans, and rolls.  It was yummy!  The little ones really liked the corn on the cob!

Milo and his corn.

And as you can see, my focus was on getting some pictures of the little ones!

We all hung out for a awhile after dinner.
The kids played and we watched the baby sleep.
Haha!  Baby watching is awesome!

Leaf Collection

One thing Asher likes to do is collect leaves to make leaf rubbings with crayons.  He calls it his leaf collection.  It is really cute.  He went outside one day all on his own and gathered lots of types of leaves.  Then he came in and sat down at the dining room table to finish his project.  And of course I had to take a pic because he is so dang awesome!!

Rock Painting

Asher got this rock painting kit for Christmas this past year.  He loves painting rocks.  So the kit came with some really cool, big, nice rocks.  Asher also went outside and found more rocks.  Then he and Cullen painted all the rocks.  He did accidentally leave the paint where Eden could get to it and she ruined one of her outfits but, all in all, a great activity!

I love that my kids are very CREATIVE
They have all have great minds and will do great things!

Pool Noodle Fun....Take #1

Did you know that there are approximately 425,899 ways to use a pool noodle?!?!  Well, neither did I.  Enter Pinterest.  Yes, stick with me throughout the summer and you yourself will see maybe five or ten different ways to use those pool noodles sitting in your dusty attic.  Not that I had any in my dusty attic.  I've never even been in my attic to be quite honest.  I digress.  So, this is one of the extra thick noodles that is cut in half.  They had fun racing their cars down the "tracks".  They tried a bunch of different spots and angles of dissent.  Fun times!! Then we got the great idea to duck tape the two of those noodles together and make it extra long so they could race from the top of the swing set!!!  I didn't get pics of that though....next time!! Because this is another things we will be doing again with many many more noodles so everyone can help build and make a super duper long and windy track!
Whew!

My New Project

I wanted to make a wreath to match the dining room.  It was so much fun to make!  And ever so easy.  I think I will make more.  Lots more.  And it made me miss doing things like this.  It helps my mind focus and relax.

I used a wire wreath that had four rings on it.  Then I chose four fabrics and three types of ribbons.  I think it turned out spectacular!!

He's Here!!

 Welcome to the World,

8lb. 14oz.

We finally have the newest member of the ever growing Kelley family here!
When we got to the hospital there was already quite a room full of people there, excited to meet the new little man!  Trisha and Josh, Debbie, Amy and Aaron, and Tyson were all there plus some kiddies.

Harley is the 11th grandchild on the Kelley side. And the 10th boy!

 Soo tired!

 Vanessa and baby Harley

I love his cute little squishy face!
I was able to get ahold of him and snuggle for a bit.  New babies are just the best!

Jeremy got him and he cried for just a few seconds for us before going to sleep again.  Being born is hard work!  He is super cute and we are all very excited for Tyson and Vanessa and their family!

Bingo Dabbers

Cullen and Asher got out the bingo dabbers again the other day.  It kept them occupied for about an hour.  This is one of their favorite things to do.  Such a simple thing.

I would love to find some more colors of the bingo dabbers.  Maybe on Amazon.  Walmart only had the four color pack.  And maybe one day we will actually play bingo with them!!  Yes, it's on the to-do list for the summer!

Redneck Waterbed

I have been trying to do as many activities as I can with the kids this summer.  I made a Summer Bucketlist 2013 board on Pinterest and we are going to try to do all of it.  I am still adding things to the list as we go along.  One of the things we all wanted to do was the Redneck Waterbed.  We simply bought a huge clear tarp....duct taped the sides up, and filled with water.  The next time we do it (because there will be a next time) I will fill it fuller and reinforce the sides a little bit more.  But, yeah, they all LOVED it!! Even the older boys had a blast on it!  I have a crap ton of video that is hilarious!!  I swear that they get along better here at home than they do when we are around other people.  Maybe there is something to that.....hmmmm.

I love the pics I seem to get of Asher...he is always doing something big and dramatic!

They bounced, jumped, ran and flipped, laid down, pretend swam, wrestled, and anything else they could think of.  It was really cool!  Jeremy and I laid on it too and it does feel really cool!  Like I said, we are doing this a few more times this summer!!

Eden had to try eating the duct tape.  Ya know, because I think she is like me and has to try everything ONCE.  Oh my.  I'm in for some fun with this little lady! lol!

 My handsome Asher.

The next morning, Eden went outside first thing, as usual.  She kept lining all the balls up in the water bed, then she would walk, and get annoyed that the balls would move out of line!! HAHA!!  Funny, cute stuff!
