37 Weeks

37 Weeks Pregnant

Get excited. At 37 weeks, your baby has reached full term. That means he’s developed his most crucial functions. Of course, he’ll get even healthier and stronger over the next few weeks, so don’t get too impatient. Around week 37, many moms-to-be find themselves organizing cupboards and scrubbing their floors. That’s the nesting instinct kicking in as your body senses baby will be here shortly. It also might be your brain’s way of making sure you’re prepared for just about anything, so you can feel like you have an extra edge on this whole new parent thing.
Your baby's the size of a winter melon!
Yay! Baby has reached full term. He likely measures around 18.9 to 20.9 inches and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds. He's gaining about 1/2 ounce each day.

your baby at 37 weeks
  • He's practicing some skills: inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping and blinking.
  • He's getting his first sticky poop (called meconium) ready for his first diaper.

36 week Check-Up

I went to the doctor yesterday.  I am measuring 40+ weeks.  I gained over three pounds in one week.  That is not good.  Dr. Jones ordered an ultrasound for me to check on size of baby and amount of amniotic fluid.  He asked me what my biggest baby was (Cullen at 8lbs. 13 oz. and he was 3 weeks early!) and then asked me to remind him of how early other baby were and their weights.  He did the group b strep test which I assume will be negative.  He checked my cervix and said that not much is going on (whatever that means).  Disappointing.  I really feel like something changed this past weekend though.  I all of a sudden got extremely uncomfortable and irritated.  I'm having sporadic contractions which are more annoying than having regular ones.
I borrowed Trisha's birthing ball and have been bouncing and rolling around on that as much as I can.  I also upped my red raspberry tea leaf tea to 3-4 cups a day.  I think I am going to try jumping on the mini trampoline too, lol!  But, I know that she will come whenever she wants to come, not when I want her to come.  I just want my body prepared in the best ways possible.  I also have to see Dr. Davis for the next two weeks since Dr. Jones will be out of town.  I have to lay down the episiotomy law with him, that is my major concern.

*side note* Okay, so I have done a TON of research on episiotomies and I have always tried to not see any pictures of it.  Oh my dear God, I looked at pictures of that this morning.....thank the Lord above I never had that done to me!! I am thoroughly shocked and amazed that this happens to so many women!! No wonder they have issues healing and functioning properly afterwards!!!  I wonder if men would let someone slice up their penis in the name of helping them do something that our bodies are made to do naturally!??!?!  I am so disgusted!   I would ruin someone's life if they did that to me!  *end side note (rant)*

I also really have no idea what I am doing with kids or anything else while in labor.  I haven't packed a hospital bag and I don't really want to.  I am so tired and irritated that I just don't want to do anything.  Pretty sure my kids have eaten pizza and cereal too much lately.  I am trying to make some freezer meals for after baby girl is here but, so far I have succeeded in making only three....and I want to use them now because I am to exhausted to cook, lol!  oh well.

Short Update

I need to update the blog with lots of stuff.  It is just hard right now because I have been rather melancholy.....and busy.  One of Vanessa's friends asked me to take her son's senior pictures and I did.  The boy's name was Jeramey and he was awesome.  He is very photogenic and easy to work with which is saying a lot for a teenage boy!  I had a ton of fun and got a crap ton of good shots!!  So, I have been working on them all week.  I am meeting him today to give him his disc but, honestly I could probably edit for another week or so, lol!
I want to blog about my baby shower last weekend but, I need to get the pictures done first and I have to find some way to put my feelings into words.  I have been busy getting ready for baby too and getting all the stuff I need ready.  I am also trying to get various things packed and put into storage for the move.  Tomorrow we have Jed Hill coming over to FINALLY put up the wainscotting and trim!!  The kids are off of school for Spring break.  It seems like it is going to be really nice today so maybe I will dye eggs today too!

I'm A Scaredy Cat

Well, I'm all alone and it's getting late and it's freaking me out!!  I guess I can't say that I am all alone....there are four children here with me.  I have yet to make them all sleep because then it will be too quiet and I really will be all alone.  I think Jeremy is having a good time though hanging with some guy friends which he almost NEVER gets to do.  He took Asher and Cedric on the Cub Scout overnight camp out.  I texted him and asked if he was having fun.  He said the kids are all running around having fun and he is hanging out with Jon and Mike so, I am happy he gets to do this.  Now, if I could find something to calm my nerves.......

GAH!

Oh my goodness, I freaking hate Carthage School District so much!!! GRRRRRR!  I cannot wait for this school year to be over and we move outta this stupid, stupid district!!!!

Sarah and Matt's Maternity Shoot

I think I only posted these on the Colista's Corner blog and not this one.  I want them to be in my books though.  So, these are pics I got back in September-ish I think of little Juliana before she made her grand appearance!

This one has over 400 re-pins on Pinterest!! Pretty stoked about that!

I wanna do more maternity sessions.  They are fun!

A Weekly Update

Yesterday I went to see Dr. Jones again.  He will be out of town then end of April and beginning of May so no delivering until then.  Which is fine. But, as soon as he comes back on the 4th then I'm gonna be in full "get baby out" mode!  I have been having severe headaches that won't go away.  My blood pressure is fine.  I asked if I could take Excedrin and he said no but, he did prescribe me a small script of vicodin.  Weird.  Whatever.  I can't have the excedrin because of the asprin in it.  Dr. Jones didn't recognize Jeremy when he walked into the exam room because Jeremy had cut his hair off!! lol! He asked Jeremy if they had met before!! bhahahaha!  I get to start my weekly appointments now.  Dr. Jones wants me to go see Dr. Davis just in case he has to deliver the baby (which I highly doubt) and apparently he takes care of the baby in the hospital too.  So, I will see Dr. Davis next week and then back to Dr. Jones for the rest of the pregnancy.  I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone.

Just realizing that I will be home alone (with the kids) on Friday night.  Asher has a Cub Scout camp out at Camp Nauvoo.  Jeremy will be taking him.  Asher is really excited about it.  I would tag along but there is no one in the world that I could camp out right now.  None.

Cedric and the 6th grade class got to go on a field trip yesterday.  We had to have him to school by 6:00am.  The took a bus to St. Louis and watched a Reds/Cardinals baseball game and some weather presentation too.  They got back about 8:45 last night.  Long day!  He had a blast though.  We went to the grocery store after we picked him up and he talked and talked and talked!  He took a phone to take pictures with and I will have to get them on here sometime.

We have found a house in Nauvoo to move into.  It isn't our perfect dream home but it is something that will work for now.  Basically nothing in Nauvoo is perfect for us.  This one is Kim and Barant Hasek's old house.  It looks like a tiny little cottage from the outside.  But, inside there is room for everyone.  The only downside (and it's kinda major) is that the dining room is WAY too small.  There is no way in the world we can eat family meals in it.  But, we plan on adding on eventually and will make it work in the meantime.  The yard is huge and surrounded by trees for the perfect amount of privacy.  And the major perk is that that we can send out kids to Nauvoo school district.  All of the kids are excited about this except Cedric.  And I don't blame him.  He has a great group of friends here.  We plan on getting our house listed and hopefully sold lickety split.  We want to move into the house in Nauvoo July 1st even if this house isn't sold yet.  Scary.

I took Eden to Preschool screening a week or so ago.  She did pretty good.  They (the evaluators) said that Eden is at the top of the list to get into the class.  This is her last year before Kindergarten (I had forgotten that and thought she still had 2 years of pre-k left) and they saw some signs of autism too and wanted to get her an aide as well to help her function in a class of 20 students.  Some of the things they are worried about they will see aren't a problem once they really get to know her.  Others are things that we are concerned about as well and they should be able to help her with such as her speech.  Even though she is talking up a storm lately!!  You just have to understand her accent, lol!

The weather is finally started to get better!! I am so excited about that!  Winter was TOUGH this year.  I have a baby shower this weekend that Debbie, Trisha, and Vanessa are throwing for me.  I am really excited!  Mostly just to celebrate with those closest to me.  I am becoming a real sap these days!  :)  I just want to happy and hang out with those people that I love and that really love me for who I am (even when I am an idiot, haha).  And getting some cute baby items will make me want this little lady here even more, if that is possible.  I cannot wait to meet her....I just know she is gonna be awesome!!

I got my hair trimmed and styled yesterday by Sarah Root at True Roots.  She does such a great job.  I wanted my hair cut before baby got here.  And I finally got to use the cut that Vicki had gotten me for my birthday!  She made my hair look so much cuter than I ever take the time to do myself.  And I took Eden with me and just told Sarah not to talk to her right away and Eden did great!  She did go back and forth between the salon and Jeremy's store quite a few times but, she didn't freak out or scream or anything.  She kept saying "Mom, what are you doing?"  And I would say:" getting my hair cut".  Then she would say "hair cut.  Okay, bye."  And she would run back to Jeremy's store.  lol!

Life

Life Is Making Me Crazy

I'm pretty dang sure that my head is going to explode today.  Just too much on my mind.  Tons of stupid stuff going on right now.  Worried about a ton of things too.  *sigh* My poor little brain can't take any more, lol! Here's a quick recap:
My mom and I got into an argument over nonsense.
It's the end of the school year and there is a ton to cram in and do.
I am VERY pregnant.
I'm already worrying about next school year.
I'm sick of driving my kids all over the country side to get to a million different schools.

There is family I am worried about.
I want my house to sell RIGHT NOW.
I need my sister to list my house RIGHT NOW.
I am worried about buying again.
I REALLY want to move but don't want to actually do the moving, lol!
I am so dang tired all.the.time.
I fret too much over taking peoples pictures.
I want crap fixed in my house but, not by loonies.
My head is full of stupid things.
I have a tooth that is hurting and probably going to cost me a ton of money.
Money, there is never enough, even when you make enough.
Five doctor and dentist appointments in the next week alone.
I hate cleaning.
Why do we have all this stuff?!!?
UGH!
My husband's business is super great and super busy right now.  Catch 22.
I am not ready for this baby.
But, I am so ready for this baby to get here.

Do you see how I make myself crazy!?!?!?!

Liam's Pinewood Derby

I had to miss Liam's Pinewood Derby because Eden was sick.  I was bummed because earlier in the week I had to miss Asher's Cub Scout Fellas Cake Bake because Liam was sick.  Oh well.  Jeremy got to go and that is important.

Liam's car was the same design as Asher's car but painted differently.
Both were fast!  Liam placed second overall!!
Good job, Liam and Dad!!!

We hadn't had a kid place in any pinewood derby before and this year we had two!! Pretty exciting!! Jeremy said on the way home he had an epiphany on how to make the cars faster too!! lol!  So, next year everyone better watch out!! lol!

My Cute Kids

When I had Tristan I was quite sure that there had never been a cuter baby born on the entire planet earth.  I didn't know how we could ever have a baby that would be as cute as him.  Then we had Cedric and somehow he as equally as cute and squishy.  Then I looked back on baby pictures of Tristan and thought, how did I think he was the cutest thing in the whole world when clearly Cedric, is just as cute as Tristan was as a baby!?!?  I had the same thoughts when I had Liam.......equally adorable but, how did I think Cedric and Tristan were the cutest when clearly Liam was just as cute as they were?!!??LMAO!  I thought it with each and every kid.  I might be slightly biased but, my babies are freaking CUTE!  ALL OF THEM! Probably the cutest kids in the whole entire world!  Each time I am pregnant I wonder what the baby will look like and if it will be as cute as the last one and each time I am fascinated that we have created this many perfect humans!! I cannot wait to see this baby girl!!

Weirdos

Cullen: Kiss me, Honeybun! (As he is trying to kiss Liam on the cheek)
Liam: No, kiss my feet!!

The Walking Dead

I can't remember if I blogged about this or not.  For Christmas one of my gifts from Jeremy was Book One of the Walking Dead comic series (hardcover) and a cute onesie for the baby that says "Little Ass Kicker".  I LOVE it!! lol!  Now, to put the onesie in context, you would have to watch The Walking Dead which happens to be one of our favorite shows ever.  After Laurie died giving birth to her baby, Daryl Dixon snuggled the little newborn and called her "little ass kicker".  It was awesome, just believe me! lol!

****Just went and looked back in January....yes, I already blogged this pic. smh.

Eden the Leprachan

Grandma Kelley brought a bunch of stuff up from her basement when we were there for St. Patrick's Day dinner.  Eden took it all and ran with it!  She loves dressing up in things.  Well, accessories anyway, lol!

She is so much fun!! So much so that it is really hard to discipline her sometimes.  And now she knows that she can pull the cute card at any time and make me smile, dang it!

Liam's Valentine's Day Party

Liam asked one of us to come to his Valentine party.  So, Jeremy took his lunch a little later than normal and went to school for the party.  He said he was the only Dad there and I said that is because he is a Cool Dad!!  Not many Dads (or Moms for that matter) can do the things that we get to do so we should enjoy it!  The had a very good time!!
And he even remembered to snap a few pics!!

Asher's Pinewood Derby Part Two

Jeremy downloaded the pictures from his phone and had a few other ones that I didn't.  Like one of the car they built, lol!  It is the red one with flames and the yellow wheels.  Pretty sweet looking, huh?  And it was fast too!
