She's On Her Way!

Today I went for my weekly checkup with Dr. Kagumba. GOOD NEWS!!! I'm finally making some progress....and we're going to have a baby girl tomorrow!!! I AM SO FREAKIN HAPPY! I'm pretty sure my husband is about ready to knock me out and the boys are probably thinking I'm off my rocker because I have been in a constant yucky mood! Sorry guys! I can't wait to finally be able to move again, to tie my shoes, or even see my feet! I want to sleep on my stomach and wear some normal clothes....ahhhh, just to be normal again! Not to mention that I will finally get to dress this baby girl up! I'm so excited! YAY!!!! Our family is about to get bigger and better!

Tristan Turns 10!!!!

I cannot believe that my oldest child turned 10!! And he's turned out to be a really amazing person! I have no doubt in my mind that he is going to grow up and do awesome things with his life. When Tristan was born in Salt Lake City a decade ago (weird) I had no clue what I was doing! haha! I had to get induced because I had toxemia (preeclampsia) so we were both on antibiotics for a few days after he was born. I didn't see Jeremy or Tristan for three hours after I gave birth because they took Tristan away to monitor him and Jeremy followed him everywhere! He wasn't going to let Tristan out of his sight. Meanwhile, I started wondering when I could actually look at this baby I had carried for 9 long months!
Anyway, Tristan was our baby that we learned on. We were way overprotective and slightly paranoid....to put it mildly. Luckily he tolerated us and still does to this day. I sure do love that kid! Kinda miss him being so small though!

Oh, How I Miss Dr. Kim!!!!

Yesterday was stupid. AGAIN, I was having contractions 3-5 minutes apart ALL night (saturday night) long. I didn't get any sleep ans was very annoyed Sunday morning. So we decided to go to the hospital to see if I was making any progress and maybe they would just help me along. Ya know, since they tell you to come to the hospital when your contractions are 5 minutes apart and all.
Anyway, so we end up missing Newpher and Owen's birthday party and make the trip to Quincy. We get there and they monitor me with contractions now 2-4 minutes apart for 4 or five hours. But, NO progress is being made in the dilation. Now if Dr. Kim were there he would say, let's just move this along. He would either break my water or give me some pitocin or both. He likes to take the initiative. Smart man, that Dr. Kim.
For some reason other people like to make a poor mother of five small boys sit at home contracting for days or weeks on end for NO GOOD REASON! I'm so tired and am just grumpy and annoyed. I'm not fun to be around and it's not good on anyone....baby, me, Jeremy, or the boys. STUPID. JUST STUPID.
Anyway, so still no baby. She's probably gonna take up permanent residence in there. And when she is born they will have waited long enough to where she is ginormous. So, I guess we could start taking bets on when she'll be born. I'm gonna put up a new poll....I vote for the 29th. I've been thinking that number since I got pregnant. 6 LONG days away. DRAT!

My Husband Rocks My Socks Off!

Jeremy has a birthday today! Happy Birthday Jeremy!! I am so lucky to call this man my husband and my very best friend! His birthday gets kind of lost in the many kid birthdays that we have and I feel bad! So I will do him a favor and not have this baby girl on his birthday! haha! He had to remind me today as I was complaining about still being pregnant that I'm not actually due yet. haha! but,t his baby is officially staying in me longer than any other baby except Tristan. I just HATE then end of pregnancy. I'm not good at it.

He doesn't like his picture taken (that's why I don't have one posted) and I'm too impatient right now to try to find one in my pic folder. We will take pics when we go out for his bday tomorrow. We are getting family pictures taken after the baby is born at Krbavac Studios (click here to see website) here in Carthage. So that should be fun!

Tristan and Asher's Birthday Party

We rode the go-carts! I guess I shouldn't say "we". I didn't ride or drive. But the boys had a blast! Tristan had never driven by himself before and looked kinda concerned and went a little slow until the last couple of laps. He was very careful and I was PROUD! Maybe turning 16 won't be so bad....I can wish, right?!?!

Asher got his "baby Trex" from Grandma and Grandpa Kelley! It's so cute that he says that! I'm not going to post every picture of presents but they made out pretty good! I know they were both pleased:)

We got Tristan a cell phone for his birthday this year. It's the LG Triton which Jeremy and I hate. Jeremy went back to his old Motorola Razor and gave Tristan his with a new cell phone cover. I still have my Triton:( But, Tristan is thrilled with his phone! He loves the touch screen and is a bit obsessed with text messaging. We added him to our plan.

Asher should be in some Adventure Zone promo or something advertising just how great their pizza is! Doesn't he just look like he's posing for it?!?!?!

Me and Trisha. I feel like such a whale!

Tristan, Tyler Piles, and Newpher

Cullen sat on this thing a good portion of the time we were at Adventure Zone. He loves hats or anything that goes on his head. Grandma Kelley got him this hat when we were shopping a couple of weeks ago. He also likes wearing my headbands.

Thank goodness Adventure Zone opened this summer! It made my birthday planning a little easier. I bakes some cupcakes and had some ice cream. Actually we(Jeremy) left the ice cream at home in Carthage on our counter! haha! My brother, Mike, went to our house though and put it back in for us, thank goodness! My mom went into Nauvoo and got us some more though! We at pizza and played! Fun times were had by all!

First Day of School 2010

August 18, 2010 was the first day of school. The three oldest boys had their first whole day! Asher starts Pre-K on Monday. Tristan started 5th grade, Cedric started third grade, and Liam started Kindergarten. It's kinda weird. I don't get real emotional about sending my kids off to school. But dropping Tristan off at the Junior High was awful!! All the kids are so much older looking and were "hanging out" in front of the school before the bell rang. He told me he had butterflies. I had them too! This year he has multiple teachers and each class is in a different room and he has to carry his schedule with him so he knows where he is going next! He just barely turned 10!!! Good grief! Anyway, all my fears were put to rest when he came home and said he had a GREAT day! Whew!
Cedric loves school and seems to like his new teacher, Mrs. Leffler. Liam can't seem to remember anything that happens at school each day. I think he gets sucked into some vortex while he is there or something. His teacher is Mrs. Peuster (like oyster with a P). Asher is really excited to start school as well. His will be half days.

This is RIDICULOUS!

Never in my life! UGH! This girl is proving to be difficult. And already putting me through more work and discomfort than the boys did! Last night I was sick to my stomach and having contractions 3-5 minutes apart for most of the evening. Then I went home and went to bed and had them all through the night about every 7-10 minutes apart causing me not to get a whole lot of sleep. Had a doctors appointment today and thought surely that these contractions had made me progress along. Guess What?!?! NOTHING!!!! Still the same as last week. Oh how I wish Dr. Kim was back so he would strip membranes. He's so great like that.
New doctor said that a lot of women have nausea as one of the first signs of labor. That's just great. I never have but each one is different I guess. Now I can't go to the hospital for the next two days because it is Jeremy and Tristan's birthdays. My contractions have left again. I got to rest this afternoon a little bit to catch up on my sleep so we'll see if they gear up again tonight. I never had had this much contracting without going to the hospital and being admitted. Good grief! Oh well, I guess it can't be too much longer but it sure does seem that way.

Asher Turns 4 Years Old!

Four years ago today my beautiful little Asher was born! He was three weeks early and weighed in at 7 lbs. 9 oz. which has been my smallest baby. His was an interesting birth story as I started at one hospital (Carthage Memorial) with a midwife and ended up at another hospital (Blessing in Quincy) with my regular doctor. I had started out Asher's pregnancy with Dr. Kim in Quincy but about three months in thought that I would give Carthage a chance since it is closer. I went to a midwife. she was a litttle strange but tolerable. When it came to birth though we were so not on the same page. She sent me home from the hospital at 4:30 in the morning when I was dilated to 5 and having contractions every 5 minutes. She said someone else needed the bed!! So home I went and my mother decided to call my regular doctor in Quincy. His nurse told me to get to the hospital in Quincy as quickly as I could. So I did. And then I had Asher. With no drugs. Dumbest thing I've ever done. The no drugs thing I mean. Asher was just PERFECT!
We are so blessed to have Asher in our family. He is definitely our little funny guy. He constantly has me busting a gut! He is very loud and boisterous......kinda like me when I was little! I'm so happy to have him as one of my boys! I love you Asher!

Peanut Butter Power

As everyone knows not all peanut butters are created equal. Anything with the word butter in the name should always be creamy too. None of this chunky crap. Can you imagine chunky butter??? Disgusting! Anyway, my fave peanut butter has always been Peter Pan Peanut Butter.....honey roasted! MMMMMMmmmmm, wholesome goodness. But, a year or so ago with the big peanut butter recall a lot of the retailers (around here anyway) have stopped carrying my Peter Pan peanut butter. It's a crime against nature really. ugh!
For awhile I had some left in my food storage but now we are without my beloved Peter Pan honey roasted peanut butter. So, I thought I would try JIF. It's a popular brand (according to a study I saw on yahoo this morning it's the MOST popular.........just goes to show you how many stupid people are int he world). It has to be good if it's so popular right?!?!?! WRONG!!!!! It's the worst thing ever! Seriously, the creamy version is so NOT creamy. It's stiff and the flavor is just sick. Who in the world markets this crap because they are a genuis to get so many people duped into thinking that it is good.
Next I decided to try Skippy. I got the natural or organic or something of that nature. The creaminess is good. The flavor is good. I can handle the skippy. The Skippy is GOOD.
So I'm now in the Skippy camp until people come to their senses and start restocking my Peter Pan Peanut Butter.

I'm Annoyed

I'm pretty sure that the kids are on to me. Me and my idle threats that is. I keep telling them that I'm going to knock them out and then I never do. Maybe I should follow through one of these days.....hmmmmm.....or I guess I could stop making idle threats.

Well, now that I didn't have the baby this past week we have to take measures to NOT have her this week. There are just too many birthdays.....we have Asher's the 17th, Jeremy's the 20th, and Tristan's the 21st. Also in the family are Owen on the 20th, Charlene on the 19th, Todd on the 18th, Sue and Todd's anniversary on the 19th, Trey is somewhere in there......who else????? I'm sure I'm forgetting something or someone. I guess I could have her tomorrow. Whatever. Maybe I could just carry her in my pocket forever.

Today was the 80th Boyer Reunion at the Nauvoo State Park. I didn't take any pictures. I was annoyed with the mosquitos. And my bladder being squished to death. It was all good other than that.

Baby Update

Went to my new doctor yesterday, Dr. Kagumba. I really like her. I am just fine and dandy with her delivering the baby. So everything is good that way. I am dilated to 2cm and 50% effaced.....joy. I was really hoping that she would say that the baby was coming out and I had to be rushed to the hospital! ha! But, seriously, I'm done. I can't function. UGH! So, I could go soon or I could go never....we'll all just have to wait and see. Last night I has some really strong contractions 3-5 minutes apart for a good two hours or so.....then they went away as suddenly as they came. Frustrating. *big sigh* I hate being pregnant. Can't wait to see that little baby girl though!

My niece who was due the same time I am.....had her baby three days ago!!! Congrats, Justine! Glad you're not miserable anymore but, I still am! hehe! He's a real cutie!

Funny Asher

Asher went poop in the bathroom during supper.
When he came out we asked him if he had remembered to wipe his butt.
"No, I shake it." says Asher
"You shook your butt?" we ask.
"Yep."

Don't you wish you could just shake it!

Liam's First Stitches

So far Liam won't let me take a picture of his first stitches. I told him it's for posterity and that we would all want to remember this monumental occasion 20 years from now and he's not buying it. Anyway, today he was playing outside at our creek with some of the neighbor kids and I was cleaning and organizing our coat/storage closet. He came in crying and I knew from the cry that he was really hurt.
So I waddled my fat butt into the kitchen and there he was with his face covered in blood. I started wiping blood away only to discover a little hole in his cheek near his mouth. Oh no biggie I thought and continued to clean. There was so much blood I thought maybe he knocked a tooth out or something though. I told him to open really wide. When he did I saw the real injury on the inside of his mouth! Yuck! Well I couldn't find my phone so I told Tristan to ride his bike to Jeremy's store and tell him to come home. I wrapped a popsicle in wet rag and put it on Liam's cheek.
Jeremy came home and took Liam to the ER. About an hour later they were back. Liam was numb and the proud owner of two whole stitches inside his mouth. They put the Dermabond on the outside. So the stitches are the dissolvable kind so hopefully we won't have any issues there.
Liam's first stitches. Wow.

An update on our weather...since I went outside today for about 15 minutes and nearly died.

Today's Forecast

Today's Forecast Image

Scattered T-Storms likely this afternoon across the tri-states, most if not all will stay sub-severe, heavy rain is the biggest threat.

HEAT is the big story. Earlier today Quincy was the hottest city in the country with a heat index of 116 degrees. Not much relief tomorrow, Thursday or Friday. In fact, the National Weather Service in St. Louis is extending the heat warning until Friday evening. Stay Cool!

Also, it looks as though the name "Haven" won our little poll. That is interesting since that has always been near the top of our list. If Cullen had been a girl his name would have been

Haven Mikah for sure. Jeremy is set on it. I have to see her first. I definitely want something that just screams girl!

I have been having some good sets of contractions on and off for a few days now. Real ones.....these are just braxton hicks anymore. My body is gearing up for the big day! YAY!

Now hopefully I will have a great doctor and all will go well.

Holy Crap It's HOT!!!

This is the forcast for our area today! It's just sick and wrong. Looks like we're staying inside with the curtains closed all day long.

Today's Forecast

A stationary front continues to hang across Iowa with thunderstorms erupting along the boundary. A stout tropical air mass remains in place over the area which will lead to the hottest day so far. Heat indexes may approach 113 this afternoon with forecast highs in the upper 90's.

Main question is where will thunderstorms erupt later today. It appears the front to our north will not budge much today. Any large scale outbreak of thunderstorm activity should remain north of U.S. 34 but a chance for the entire area will remain in place through late Wednesday. Slightly cooler weather is still forecast by the end of the weekend.

New Doctor

I went to my weekly checkup on Wednesday and found out that my doctor, Dr. Kim, has ended up having emergency open heart surgery!!! Of course he won't be able to deliver me. :( This really sucks! He has delivered everyone except Tristan. I went to one of his partners (Dr. Dureska) and hated him! It was awful. So, I scheduled next weeks appointment with another one of Dr. Kim's partners (Dr. Kagumba). It is a woman....never been to a woman doctor before. Hopefully all goes well. There's more details but I'm too depressed to talk about it. UGH! Seriously disappointed. I do hope Dr. Kim recovers quickly though. Apparently he almost died! But they expect him to fully recover and return to work in two months.

I can't sleep at night. Or any other time.

A Post About Chips!

I found these chips a few months ago and I am HOOKED! They are so freakin good! There are different flavors but the ala mexicana is my fave.
The chips themselves are Taro, sweet potato, parsnip, batata, and yuca chips.
They are just so much more satisfying than regular old potato chips. YUM!

Today, I am sluggish and grumpy. Eating these chips has been the highlight of my day so far. How sad is that?!?!?

The Jolly Roger

Cedric got a model pirate ship for his birthday back in May. We're just now taking the time to get it put together. These pics are from the first night but so far Jeremy has let Cedric stay up late a few different nights so that they can put this ship together in peace without all the other boys getting in the way. Cedric LOVES this time together....and so does Jeremy! I will have to take more pics of the finished product when they are done.

On another note, I am beat from the back to school/birthday shopping in Williamsburg yesterday. It kicked my butt! Cullen was asleep when I got home but when he woke up this morning he looked extra happy to see me and climbed around on me a bunch! I think he might have missed me a little! :)
