This is the forcast for our area today! It's just sick and wrong. Looks like we're staying inside with the curtains closed all day long.
Today's Forecast
- 97°
- 75°
A stationary front continues to hang across Iowa with thunderstorms erupting along the boundary. A stout tropical air mass remains in place over the area which will lead to the hottest day so far. Heat indexes may approach 113 this afternoon with forecast highs in the upper 90's.
Main question is where will thunderstorms erupt later today. It appears the front to our north will not budge much today. Any large scale outbreak of thunderstorm activity should remain north of U.S. 34 but a chance for the entire area will remain in place through late Wednesday. Slightly cooler weather is still forecast by the end of the weekend.
