My Holiday Control Journal

A person might wonder just how much control I really have when I post a blog complete with nine pictures about a book to organize my holidays.  But, this project was fun and mostly easy and makes me feel good so just deal with it!
As all my readers know, I am  a little obsessed with the flylady.com right now.  I downloaded the holiday journal here (there are actually a bunch of control journals but for this project click on the HCJ) and printed it out.  I sat and wondered how to best put my HCJ together as it has to last two months.  So I decided to use clear contact paper to cover the front and back pages.  Easy peasy.

I just laid the contact paper out on my desk.

Put the back page underneath the already pulled back contact paper.  I laid my paper on top of the backing paper for the contact paper.

The back page of the journal is blank for you to put an envelope for receipts or other important things like warranties, rebates, etc.  I decided to attach two smaller envelopes so that I could have two categories if I need it. I put contact paper over the envelopes as well so they would stay durable throughout the season.

To not have excess bunched up contact paper I cut the corners out like this so that all of it would fit better.

This is where things got hairy.  I tried to staple my book together and it just barely wouldn't fit.  So I thought I would use the staple gun that my mom left at my house.  That doesn't work either.  So today I am pondering how to best put the book together still.  I think I will take a few of the less necessary pages out and staple them together, then put them in a pocket I will create with more paper and contact paper on the back of the front page.  I will let you all know.  I know you are on pins and needles.  But, the moral of the story is....my holidays are going to be stress and chaos FREE! woot for that!
