So this is pretty early on.....a couple of inches on the ground
Little bit later....a couple more inches on the ground......
Morning after.....20-24 inches on the ground!!!
The great Blizzard of 2011! haha! We were fully prepared. We had food, flashlights, candles, blankets, salt, shovels, etc. all ready to use! I was so worried about losing power but, thanks heavens it didn't happen. I was looking outside from my bedroom window at the trees blowing in the wind (gusts up to 45 mph) and I saw one half of town lose lights! It was really weird because there was a big pop noise and the street lights and everything went out! That's when I noticed that my lights were not out.....then after about a minutes I saw lights start to come back on. The snow was blowing so hard at times that I couldn't see my neighbors houses. Then I heard part of my roof come off! Freaked me out! Well, I guess I should say the shingles on my roof because they wood didn't come off.
Anyway, the storm was actually kinda fun! The snow day before and after were kinda fun! Then snow days 3 and 4 came and the fun kinda walked out the door and left. And the stir crazies walked in! LOL! We made tigers blood snow ice cream.....want a good recipe for snow ice cream? I will give you one.
Snow Ice Cream
8-10 cups of fresh snow
1-1 and 1/2 cans of sweetened condensed milk
(you can use fat free)
Any flavors you have on hand
Get the snow. Stir in the milk and flavors. Stir until cream and mixed well. Easy Peasy.
