Night Things

Nothing scares me more when I wake up in the middle of the night to a child standing right next to my bed. I think what really gets me is that they are just the right height to be right on the same level as my face lying on my pillow. Sometimes they just stand there and wait for me to stir. Why? I need some kind of motion detecting doorbell or something on my bedroom door.
As of late has taken to a nightly three, sometimes four step program. We put him to bed when all the boys go to bed. He sleeps on the top bunk. He also broke his ladder so we have a chair next to his bed for the time being. So we get him up into bed where he falls asleep. Sometime later on he will wake up screaming and want to take his pillow and blankets onto the floor of his bedroom and sleep there. Which he does for a little while more (maybe an hour or two or three). Then he will come to our room where he hovers around the bed for a bit. Then I wake up and make a little bed for him on our floor.
That is usually where he stays the rest of the night....sometimes though, he takes the full plunge of ending up in our bed.

So while I was typing this I wondered why I didn't enjoy paranormal activity more...when obviously things creeping up on me in the middle of the night creeps me out. It's because the movie is a piece of trash. That's why.

What you need is a really creaky door like we have. That snaps me out of a dead sleep every time!

Also-(I'll be glad to skip Paranormal then since it stunk)

Bruce likes to put his face an inch away from mine and just stare at me till I wake up and freak out. It gets me every time!

Haha, I was chuckling a little at the irony of this post after your lackluster reaction to Paranormal Activity. Perhaps you should make your own creepy film about demonic kids that wake up their parents by standing by their beds in the middle of the night.

You'd be the next George Lucas. Meaning the young George Lucas, not the old one. :)

do you know, the kids do not wake me up. they wake john up all the time, but i just sleep through it all. unless it's on one of those rare nights that he's not there, then i wake up every time they turn over in their beds. weird. ;P
