Asher: I've said it a million times.  What are you death?
Liam: Death?
Asher:Yeah, are you death?
Liam: It's dead.
Asher:No, it isn't.
Me: No, it's deaf.  With an f.
Both: (Blank stares)
Me: If you can't hear then you are deaf.  D-E-A-F. 
Both: oh.

A Project Idea

I need a menu board.  Or a "What's For Supper?" board.  Every evening when I am cooking, every person seems to filter through the kitchen and ask the same question. I am usually okay the first couple or few times of answering but, as it continues to get asked, for some reason my patience gets smaller and smaller, lol!  I think it is just the simple act of repeating one's self can be annoying.  But, the ones who ask fourth or fifth don't mean to upset me, haha!  So, I think somehow I will fashion a chalk board or something that answers this question so I don't have to. 

Random Things

Last night we all gathered at Debbie and Pat's house for a birthday dinner for Pat and I.  Yesterday was Pat's actual birthday and mine is on Wednesday.  We ate Million Dollar Spaghetti (that was super good!), corn, Caesar salad, garlic bread and blue cheese bread.  All of it was extra tasty and very filling!  For dessert we had homemade vanilla bean ice cream and peach cobbler!  YUMMY!  It was a good time hanging out with family! 

I think I am going to print up a cookbook.  I REALLY want to do it again.  It would be nice to take my personal recipe book and print it all up so it is organized and legible, lol!  I can't decide when to start though. 

This morning we had to "spring forward" our clocks.  I hate this time change but, if it means that Spring is coming then I am all for it!  This winter has been a doozy and I am ready to be done, done, done.   I feel very weird today though and probably will for a few days until I adjust again. 

Jeremy and I have been catching up on Dr. Who episodes lately and I can't stop dreaming about The Doctor.   Good grief.  That and zombies.  Tonight is another new episode of The Walking Dead and we are stoked as usual!  lol! 

We tend to buy very big packages of toilet paper (and everything else).  Eden's life is not complete until she drags each package of toilet paper out and sits/stand/jumps on it until all the rolls are nice and flat.  Then when we put it on the toilet paper roll it thumps around the thing the whole time.  Nice. 

What else? The big boys (namely, Tristan, Liam, and Asher) are very into collecting Pokemon cards right now.  It makes for a nice incentive for chore money.  I usually hop on Amazon and let them pick out a few with their allowance money. 

Potatoes and Sausage

 This has been my go-to meal as of late because it is so dang easy.  I just fill that pink bowl with potatoes, sweet potatoes, green peppers, onions, and kielbasa sausage.  Toss it with a little olive oil, kosher salt, pepper, thyme, and paprika.  Then bake it on a cookie sheet for about 45 minutes at 400 degrees.  I stir it all about half way through.  

It's really good and the kids eat it mostly good.  Some of them pick out the sweet potatoes (more for me!) and the green peppers.  Tristan is completely nuts and picks out the onions too! lol! 

 This particular time of making it, we saved the leftovers and the next morning I made a great little breakfast for Jeremy and I after the kids were at school.  I just reheated the potatoes and sausage and paired it with some scrambled eggs and toast.  It was even better!! So, I think now I will just at eggs and toast to the supper meal for the whole family as well. 

Morning Ramblings

Today is gonna be great!!  And so I say it and so it shall come to pass....errr, or something like that! lol!  We take Eden to the audiologist today.  I asked Jeremy to come with me because I am hugely pregnant and can't hold her still for the doctors.  He agreed and that made me ever so happy!  After today we will be able to talk to the pediatrician today and see what else we should do.  I think nothing.  I think she just needed us to help her more.  She is number 6 after all, and we got used to her just tagging along, lol! Sometimes I am annoyed with people jumping to conclusions about kids and diagnosis when they are so young.  Why do we have to slap labels on everyone just because they made do things a little differently or at a different time!?!? *sigh* whatever.  I just didn't like that they made me feel like something was "wrong" with Eden.

Also, my birthday is in seven days!!! I was really hoping to have a big bash for my 35th birthday.  Last year was really low key.  But, this year it is a big one!  I am getting OLD!!!  But, I am hugely pregnant (as I think I have stated about a million times!) and will probably end up doing nothing much.  I don't know.  I tell ya what though, for my 36th I am going all out!! I don't care if it is for number 36 or not....I guess I could celebrate 35 twice.

I joined a Bunco (dice game) group that meets once a month at the Wine Barrel in Nauvoo.  The first month was last month and it was pretty fun!  Tonight is the second one!  I am looking forward to that as well!  It's just a couple of hours of girl time that is much needed sometimes!  

Silly Kids

 On Saturday, Cedric told us that we needed to go look at Eden in the kitchen.  So Jeremy and I went into the kitchen.  She had taken one of our labels from an Amazon box and stuck it right across her mouth.  When she saw that I was going to take pictures she covered her mouth..............................................

 then she hid behind the cabinet door......................

 when that failed she moved on to the fridge.  Wait, what?!!? 

 Yes, this silly girl decided that the fridge was the perfect spot to hide.  

 Cullen thought she was very silly!

 She was having a great time and we all were laughing so hard!!  I love these silly kids!!

We also decided that Cullen needs to be constantly recorded because he says the most awesome things. If I could remember even half of them.....oh boy, that kid is hilarious!

Tristan at Philmont

Tristan is signed up to go the Boy Scout high adventure camp, Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico!! He is really excited about this adventure.  He will be going with other scouts from his pack.  This is a SERIOUS thing.  Like hard core.  So, he is going to start training with the scouts and also with me once I have this baby, lol!  They are slated to go July 26- Aug. 7, 2015 but, he is gonna be ready!  I am posting a link below to the website.

Blue and Gold Banquets

 We had two Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquets in one week last week.  Asher's was on a Saturday and had a pot luck dinner.   We were busy most of the day so I took two store bought fruit trays and two boxes of store bought muffins.  Lame, I know, but whatever.  It was very short and sweet.  We ate, donated money, and the scouts played a quick game.  

Liam's was on Wednesday and the meal was provided by the church.  In fact my mom cooked it because she is Liam's den leader.  She made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, and rolls.  I was feeling like cooking so I made some corn casserole and cole slaw.  They also had the fellas cake bake that evening.  Jeremy and Liam didn't get a chance to make anything so I whipped up a poke cake.  It was a red velvet cake with cheesecake filling, and oreos on top.  I didn't know how it would turn out but, did it anyway.  

So, all the cakes are on the table to be judged and for some reason no one thought mine was involved or something because they all started eating it!!  Mine was demolished and the others barely touched.  It made me feel good but, sad for the others, lol!  

 This is all that was left when we got home.  And boy was it ever good!!!! I will be making this again for sure!!  I will have to post the recipe so  I have it forever.  Actually I want to make another cookbook sometime soon.  

Anyway, after the dinner, there was a magic show.  Then they did a short presentation and handed out badges and awards.  Liam earned some beads.  We took the whole family and everyone had a great time.  Eden is really getting better about being around people that she doesn't know.  And it helps that she can convey what she wants a little better now.  We were all zonked when we got home. 

Truth

Yesterday, I was very upset all day long.  Sunday too.  I don't like feeling that way at all.  I saw this on a friend's timeline on facebook and it fit with what I am feeling right now just perfectly.  I don't know if Bob Marley actually said it or not because things tend to get messed up on the internet but, the quote it is good just the same.  If Bob Marley said it, it makes it that much better because he is one of my absolute faves!  I listen to him every time I am giving birth, lol!

A Bridal Shower

 Sometime around August last year I went to a bridal shower for Matt and Lacey Pezley.  Matt is Jeremy's younger cousin.  They got married later that month.  The shower was here in Carthage at the Marine Bank.  They had some really cute, classic decor.  The food was good and we all had a great time.

August Birthday Luau 2013

 Better late than never.  It only took me six months to finally post this.  Absolutely no good reason as to why I haven't yet.  Annoyed with myself but, whatever, here it is.  We have a plan to add to our luau every year to make it bigger and better each year but, we will see if that comes to fruition.  The birthdays we celebrated are Jeremy (Aug. 20, his 36th), Tristan (Aug. 21, his 13th), Asher (Aug. 17, his 7th), and Eden Rose (Aug. 27th, her 3rd).  

 Trisha made some cute little cakes up for each birthday person!  They were super cute!  She is much better at the cake thing than I am so I am so happy she made them for me! 

 Nicci Trapp and Alina came from Jefferson City for the party and brought William along too!! Awesome! 

 I spent too much time rolling and tying silverware but, it looked cute dang it!

 We bought this and the other decorations when we went to St. Louis/St. Genevieve for Jeremy's birthday earlier in the month.  

 Jeremy found and bought this cool thatched umbrella that we can use year to year.

 I made little luau party boxes as favors for all the kids.  I think they liked them.  They each had a pair of sunglasses, a beach necklace, beach ball, candy, goop, mini skateboards, and some other stuff I can't remember.  

 We played cornhole.
